The photo of the working area of experimental setup used for studying the responses of moths to retranslated signals. The moth fixed on the wire which led to the horizontal shift detector was flying and emitting ultrasonic clicks that were registered with the microphone. Signals from the detector and microphone were fed to the amplifier and waveform transformer and then were emitted using condenser speaker. Clicks went back to the moth after a small delay (0.5 ms) and no changes appeared in the visual field of the moth.
